48+ Years of Manufacturing Interlining Fabric in Delhi
From a small cloth trading counter in 1977 to a full-scale interlining manufacturer — this is the story of the business garment makers and buying houses still call directly today.
Built Counter By Counter, Order By Order
Jai Baba Nanak Cloth Trading Co. began in 1977 as a small cloth trading counter in Delhi. There was no factory behind it at first — just a family willing to source fabric honestly and deliver what was promised, on the day it was promised.
Over the decades, that trading counter grew into in-house manufacturing. Machines were added as demand grew, product lines were built one at a time, and the business moved from simply trading cloth to producing it — buckram, fusible interlining, pocketing cloth, readymade collar & cuff, belt roll & placket (patti), shoulder pads and EVA foam. Buckram alone moves through every channel we operate — manufactured for garment units and supplied in bulk to wholesalers and traders alike.
The company remains family-run to this day. It is now guided by the next generation of the Chawla family, with Mr. Sahil Chawla the person garment manufacturers and buying houses deal with directly for orders, specifications and dispatch.
- Family-owned since 1977, now in its next generation of leadership
- Grew from trading to full in-house manufacturing
- Same direct, no-middleman relationship with buyers since day one
Journey Since 1977
Every stage of our growth has been built on the same principle: don't take on more than the factory can deliver consistently.
1977 — Trading Counter
Started as a small cloth trading business in Delhi.
In-House Manufacturing
Brought production in-house to control quality directly.
10 Product Lines
Broadened into the full range of interlining categories we make today.
Domestic & Export
Extended supply to buying houses and export merchants.
Consistent Fabric, Order After Order
Our mission has not changed since 1977 — supply garment makers with interlining they can build a production schedule around.
Reliable, Repeatable Quality
The roll you reorder should match the roll you first tested — every time, not just on the first order.
Direct Manufacturer Relationships
Buyers deal with the people who make their fabric, not a chain of agents and resellers.
Dispatch You Can Plan Around
A confirmed delivery date is a commitment, not an estimate — production schedules depend on us keeping it.
Where We're Headed
Growth for us means going deeper into interlining manufacturing, not spreading thin across unrelated categories.
Deeper Manufacturing Capability
Continued investment in our Delhi production floor, not diversification away from what we know.
Wider Export Reach
Extending the same manufacturer-direct relationship to more export buying houses and merchants.
A Business Built To Outlast Us
Passing a family business to the next generation with the same standards it was built on.
What Guides Every Order We Ship
Consistency Over Cleverness
We would rather hold a specification steady across a thousand metres than experiment mid-order.
Straight Dealing
Clear pricing, honest lead times, and no surprises buried in the fine print of an order.
Ownership
If a batch falls short of specification, we own the problem and fix it — not the buyer's production schedule.
A Factory Floor Built Up Over Decades, Not Overnight
Our manufacturing capability wasn't set up in a single investment — it was added to gradually, decade after decade, as the business earned the right to grow. Each machine, each process checkpoint, was added because a buyer needed it, not because it looked good on paper.
That gradual build-up is why our manufacturing process is as stable as it is today. Nothing on our floor is untested at scale, and every product category we run has years of production history behind it.

Who You'll Actually Deal With
No call centre, no account handoffs — one point of contact who represents the current generation of the business.
Mr. Sahil Chawla
Mr. Sahil Chawla is the direct point of contact for order enquiries, specifications and dispatch — carrying forward the family business into its next generation while keeping the same manufacturer-direct relationship buyers have relied on since 1977.
A Delhi Facility Set Up For Repeat, Bulk Production
Our infrastructure is built around one goal: repeatability at volume. Raw material intake, production, in-line checks and packing are laid out as a continuous flow, so a bulk order doesn't get treated any differently from a small one — it just runs longer.
- Dedicated production lines for each core product category
- In-line width, weight and bond checkpoints during every run
- Packing and storage set up for both domestic dispatch and export
